Mission

Sundial Theatre Company’s mission is to provide entertainment, enlightenment, and education on issues of importance to people with disabilities in the Washington metropolitan area. Through cultural awareness and diversity, our company will address such topics as empowerment, equal opportunity, discrimination, and inclusion.

Sundial’s intentions are to expose audiences to unique and inspiring stories about persons who have developmental, emotional and physical challenges, as well as to provide theatrical opportunities to theatre artists with disabilities The focus of Sundial Theatre Company is to create theatrical experiences that are equally accessible to all people. Our goals are to:

• Create theatrical productions that encourage the collaboration of actors with and without disabilities.
• Seek, train and engage the many talented professionals with disabilities within the theatre community.
• Offer workshops at adult day care centers, mental health facilities, and schools that serve special populations.
• Provide acting classes, performance opportunities and playwriting workshops.
• Make performances inclusive and totally accessible, provide audio description, listening devices, sign interpretation Braille and large print programs.
